Who this policy applies to
This policy explains how CCTV Installation Melbourne (ABN 37 169 897 545) handles personal information. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, and it applies to everyone who contacts us, requests a quote, or has work carried out by us.
What we collect
When you request a quote or contact us, we collect the details you provide: your name, phone number, email address, suburb, and information about your property such as building type, wall type and the services you are interested in.
When we carry out work, we also hold your installation address, the equipment installed, and a record of the service and support we have provided.
Why we collect it

Our website
Our website does not ask you to create an account. Apart from the details you type into our quote form, the only information collected is the standard technical data your browser sends to any website, such as browser type and the pages you visit, which we use to keep the site working. We do not use this site to build advertising profiles or to track you across other sites.
Marketing
We contact you about the job you have asked us about. If we ever want to send you anything else, we will ask first, and every message will carry a way to opt out. You can tell us to stop at any time by replying to any message or calling us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with our own technicians and estimators as required to complete your job, with monitoring providers where you have asked us to arrange back-to-base monitoring, with equipment manufacturers where we are managing a warranty claim on your behalf, and where we are required to by law.
We do not disclose your personal information to anyone outside Australia.
Footage and recorded material
We do not access, store or retain footage from systems we install unless you specifically ask us to as part of a service, repair or support request. Recorded footage belongs to you as the property owner or occupier.
Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes set out above, or as long as the law requires, and then destroy or de-identify it.
Accessing or correcting your information

Making a privacy complaint
