Effective 2 September 2026. Applies to quotes, installations and service work from that date.
Who these terms apply to
These terms apply to all quotes, installations and service work carried out by CCTV Installation Melbourne (ABN 37 169 897 545). By accepting a quote or booking work with us, you agree to them.
Quotes and site inspections
Onsite assessments and written quotes are provided free of charge with no call-out fee, and carry no obligation. Quotes are based on the property as inspected, and are open for acceptance for 30 days from the date we issue them unless the quote says otherwise.
Variations
If the scope changes once work begins, for example because of wall construction or cabling access that could not be seen at the time of inspection, we will stop, explain what has changed, and agree any variation with you in writing before we continue. You are never charged for work you have not approved.
Bookings, access and cancellation
You are responsible for providing safe access to the property and to the areas where equipment is to be installed, and for obtaining any permission required from an owner, body corporate, landlord or building manager before work starts.
If you need to reschedule or cancel, let us know as early as you can and we will move the booking at no charge. If our technician attends at the agreed time and cannot get access to the property, we may charge a reasonable attendance fee, which we will always tell you about before rebooking.
Payment
Any deposit, the accepted payment methods and the balance due are set out in your written quote. The balance is payable on completion of the installation unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
Equipment and ownership
Equipment supplied remains our property until paid for in full. Once installed and paid for, the system and any footage it records belong to you.
Surveillance and the law
You are responsible for using your system lawfully. In Victoria that includes obligations under the Surveillance Devices Act 1999 (Vic) and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) relating to recording audio, recording areas beyond your own property, and notifying people who may be recorded. We are happy to advise on camera placement, but how the system is used remains your responsibility.
Workmanship and equipment
Our installation workmanship is covered by our warranty. Equipment is additionally covered by the relevant manufacturer’s warranty. See our warranty policy for what is covered and how to claim.
Liability
A security system reduces risk. It cannot guarantee that a break-in, loss or damage will never happen, and we do not warrant that it will. Apart from the guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and to the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim is limited to resupplying the service, or repairing, replacing or paying the cost of repairing or replacing the goods.
Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your job are the ones published on this page on the date you accepted your quote.
